Built in Australia to the highest standards available, our factory enables all stages of construction to occur in one facility under the watchful eye of proprietor, Mark Richards. Utilizing solid works 3D design programs coupled with computerised CNC systems and state of the art tooling ensures precise construction.
Latest generation E glass, vinyl ester, epoxy resins and stitched multi-axial fabric over Corecell linear foam are used to provide a very strong, but lightweight hull and deck. All bulkheads and fixed furniture are structurally bonded to the hull and deck for superior strength and rigidity like a performance racing yacht. Each model is engineered with proprietary noise silencing materials and the exclusive Quiet Chine © hull to provide a tranquil environment while aboard.
Palm Beach uses Volvo marine engines and world class equipment, but will build to client specifications if alternatives are preferred. All engine and ancillary equipment sit atop fully isolated and decoupled engine mounts to reduce noise and vibration. The engine room consists of loaded vinyl acoustic isolation panels, preventing noise from moving outside of the engine room into the boat’s living area.
Palm Beach Motor Yachts is always looking to the future to ensure we stay at the forefront of technology and design. We pride ourselves on perfection and refinement and this is reflected in the quality of our vessels.
Welcome to our beach.
Our range is inspired from leading edge yacht racing technology and Mark’s experience at the pinnacle of yacht racing in global competition. In applying these philosophies to the design of his classically styled range of motor yachts, he has created a range that offers so much more to the astute boat owner.
Stability and agility are paramount and uncompromised. A trip offshore in rough conditions delivers superb performance with a fine bow entry and warped hull, providing outstanding fuel consumption and comfortable cruising speeds. Maneuvrability and ease of handling comes through hydraulic steering, electronic gear selection and optional bow/stern thrusters.
All engine and ancillary equipment sit atop fully isolated and decoupled engine mounts to reduce noise and vibration. The engine room itself consists of loaded vinyl acoustic isolation panels, preventing noise from moving outside of the engine room into the boats living area.
The internal fit out is not unlike that of a high tech racing yacht where the bulkheads and fixed furniture are structurally bonded to the hull and deck further reinforcing the strength and lightweight properties of the hull. When it comes to internal fit out, we offer owners with a choice of either our traditional finish dominated by polished Burmese teak in conjunction with hand crafted joinery or our Contemporary finish. While still using teak trimming, our Contemporary finish utlizes more soft furnishings and composite materials to provide a more modern feel while maintaining our high quality. The choice is yours and as with all Palm Beach Motor Yachts, the fit out is entirely custom to suit each owner.

Volvo IPS - A Proven Success
From a revolution to a proven success
Praised by boat owners, the press and boat builders, Volvo IPS has revolutionized the boating industry. Superior to inboard shafts and jet drive in every vital aspect – maneuverability, fuel economy and quiet operation to name a few. Today, more than 10,000 IPS units are installed in more than 250 different boat models worldwide.
Enjoying boating has never been easier
With Volvo IPS driving is a lot easier than with inboard shafts and jet drives – and much more fun. The secret is in the steerable pods, pointing the entire thrust in the desired direction. They react immediately and precisely to driver commands, the turning radius is tight and tracking is absolutely straight. No need for bow and stern thrusters. All this for a safe and pleasurable ride.
Maneuver your boat like a pro with the Volvo IPS Joystick control
With the Volvo IPS Joystick, maneuvering is completely intuitive, the driver just pushes or rotates the joystick in the desired direction and the boat responds: forward, reverse, sideways, or spins on its own axis. The Volvo IPS Joystick uses the engine and drive units in programmed synchronization to perform any maneuver the operator desires. The joystick lets you steer the boat in any direction, even sideways, or spin around on the spot. Up to four joysticks can be installed, making it possible to dock from the aft deck. Forget complicated shift, throttle and steering wheel combinations in close quarter maneuvering. Simply move the joystick in the direction you want your boat to move.
How does it work?
The secret behind the amazing moves is the Volvo IPS system with its individually steerable drive units. Sophisticated and specially developed software in the EVC system transforms the driver’s joystick movements into steering angles, gear shifts and throttle positions. The boat moves exactly according to the driver’s intentions.
Lower left button: activate or deactivate the joystick.
Lower right button: high mode, to get more power if needed, e.g. if wind or current is strong.
Upper left button: activate or deactivate “Dynamic Positioning System” (option).
You can do all your slow-speed driving easier than the traditional way in any direction!
The superiority of forward-facing
Forward-facing propellers have proved to be superior in terms of performance, drivability and not
least – fuel consumption. By working in undisturbed water the propulsion efficiency is far greater than
on conventional inboard systems. The fact that the propeller thrust is aimed horizontally means that
all power drives the boat forward. Volvo IPS also enables the use of flat-surface hulls, which means
the boat can be designed for minimum resistance. You will also enjoy a much quieter environment as
compared to inboard shafts and jet drives.
30% less fuel – 40% longer range
When it comes to fuel economy, the benefits of Volvo IPS are obvious – an impressive 30% possible
reduction of fuel consumption at cruising speed compared to inboard shafts. That translates into over
40% longer cruising range, and of course a huge benefit for the environment. It seems like an
impossible combination, but while decreasing fuel consumption, performance is also greatly
improved. In a match-up against inboard shafts of the same power, the differences are obvious. The
boat equipped with Volvo IPS accelerates much faster, and has a higher top speed.
Volvo IPS makes life onboard more pleasurable. The vibration levels are kept low, partly because of
the twin counter-rotating propellers that run free of cavitation well under the hull. Furthermore, the
installation makes for effective suspension, preventing vibrations from spreading through the system.
Since the exhausts are emitted through the rear of the propulsion unit into the prop wash, they are
carried well behind the boat without disturbing life onboard.
Longer cruising range
One major benefit of Volvo IPS is its outstanding efficiency compared to inboard shafts. This can
lead to a drastic cut in fuel consumption – a reduction of around 30% at cruising speed. A 30%
reduction in fuel consumption equals an increase in cruising range by over 40%. If a boat with inboard
shafts consumes 1000 liters on a specific stretch, Volvo IPS only consumes 700. Those 300 liters
you spare lets you travel an extra 40% of the original distance. Quite simply, this means you can skip
unnecessary refueling stops and stay out longer at sea. It is also a huge benefit for the environment
since the CO2 emissions are kept low.
